Dan
Ten years of full-stack engineering and platform architecture — Odoo, Python, JavaScript, and the systems underneath.
I architect whole systems and build across every layer — the data models and APIs underneath, and the interfaces people actually touch on top. End to end: Odoo, Django, FastAPI and Flask on the server; Vue, Nuxt, Next.js and React Native on the front; PostgreSQL, AWS, GCP and Terraform holding it together.
I've led teams, shipped hundreds of Odoo modules, and architected marketplaces, multi-tenant SaaS, multi-cloud estates and full ERP platforms. The seams matter most to me — where front-end, back-end and infrastructure meet — so I hold the line on type-safety, transactions and tests, and the whole thing stays calm under change.
Where the work happened.
- Founded a three-person engineering studio and architect the spine of every engagement — APIs, data models, deployment.
- Architected B2B marketplaces, multi-tenant SaaS, multi-cloud estates and full ERP platforms — MySpecialist, Exiqtive, Procell, Rebound.
- Hold a two-environment deploy policy that has produced no destructive incident in four years.
- Vetted Toptal talent (top ~3%), taking independent Odoo and backend engagements for international clients alongside employed roles.
- Senior engineering on DISH BSS — the commercial backend behind METRO's restaurant-tech platform: a FastAPI gateway sibling services call into, a RabbitMQ event bus, and a Salesforce→Odoo feature recreation.
- The through-line across the years — the independent practice that eventually became Hazenfield.
- Decoupled compute-intensive tasks into a serverless infrastructure to relieve Odoo, raising overall performance.
- Helped design the application infrastructure and integrated technologies to widen its feature set.
- Led junior developers to their full potential; clarified acceptance criteria with product owners and QA so the pipeline stayed smooth and deployments timely.
- Designed new Odoo views so a user could reach any piece of information within five clicks.
- Built a complete REST-like API inside Odoo — Odoo objects usable directly as resources.
- Led a team of young developers to build and ship hundreds of Odoo modules, mostly Python and JavaScript.
- Handled 20+ projects across one year.
- Talked to customers directly to earn their confidence — loyalty from every customer I met.
- Supervised three interns who each shipped something useful: a punch-clock-to-Odoo attendance sync, and an Ansible-driven web app to monitor and control servers.
- Built an Odoo module computing raw-material needs precisely across several levels of intermediate products.
- Extended Odoo's Backbone.js point-of-sale with additional payment methods.
- Built an Odoo module to run a large Madagascar garage — mirroring every step of a car repair and reporting time spent per car.
A decade of platforms, dated.
Mathematics, then machines.
The toolkit.
